Are you packed and ready for our 74th birthday? Bring your friends, sponsees, or your entire home group. Although pre-registration ended May 15 at midnight, you can still register on campus at the Student Union starting 8:00 AM Friday June 12th. Basic registrations, Package Plans, meals, and site tags will all be available. For a list of events and more information click here.
Please respect the gravesite grounds Sunday morning and throughout our weekend. Remember, we are guests at these sacred places. Treat them with absolute respect and leave themas we find them.
The University is changing motorcycle parking from Lot 8 to Lot 10. It is next to Lot 8 and shares the same entrance. Parking services will have signs and attendants during the day. Lot 10 is larger and will accommodate more bikes. Click here to see a map.
Campers and RVers can purchase a day pass ($8.00) for the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. The center provides facilities for showering, swimming, and excercise. Here is a map. For more information click here.
REGISTRATION & ACCOMODATIONS
Basic Registrations provide entrance to the conference and all meetings for the entire weekend, including tickets to the Saturday night meeting. Venues are assigned on a first come first served basis. See here Prices will stay the same this year at $17.00.
We will continue to offer a "full" Package Plan A for $175.00. As always, Package Plan A includes:
- Basic Registration (ribbon & name badge)
- Accomodations (Friday & Saturday night)
- Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Sunday breakfast
- Bus tour of the historic sites
New this year is Package Plan B.

In essence, Package Plan B is a package plan minus meals. This is in direct response to the many requests we have received over the years. The price is be $125.00. Any changes will be reported here first.
Meals are still available á la carte and priced the same as last year. They are served in the Student Union as follows:
- Saturday Breakfast - $12 | 8-9 am
- Saturday Lunch - $17 | 12-1 pm
- Saturday Dinner - $23 | 4:30-6 pm
- Sunday Breakfast - $12 | 8:30-10 am
Respect the graves, cemetery grounds and your fellow AA's during Dr. Bob's graveside service Sunday morning.
Registration ends May 15th. If you have not registered for Founders' Day, please do so soon.
ABSOLUTES
- All pre-registration packets must be picked up by 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
NO EXCEPTIONS!
- Name badges & ribbons must be worn at all times while on the University campus.
- All rooms and buildings at Akron University are non-smoking.
(Smoking is permitted outside, 25 feet from entrances.)
- Handicapped parking will be strictly enforced.
University police will ticket and tow all unauthorized vehicles parking in handicap spaces. Violators will incur a fine of $250.00
- No motorcycles allowed on the grass.
SPECIAL NEEDS
- All meetings are wheelchair accessible.
(Wheelchair rentals will be available on the 1st floor of the Student Union.)
- A.S.L. Interpreter at designated (*) meetings and 4:30 bus tour.
- TTY available at the Information Center.
- Please contact the Founders' Day Committee with any dietary or special needs by May 1, 2009.
ACCOMODATIONS
- No incoming calls accepted at dorms.
(Please use 330.972.7755 for ALL messages and emergency calls throughout Founders' Day weekend.)
- No entry to campsites until 8:00 a.m. on Friday morning.
(A permit is required prior to set-up.)
- No animals or campfires allowed in campsite area.
- RV CAMPERS: Lot information will be posted as soon as it is finalized.
REFUND POLICY
- All refunds must be requested in writing and postmarked prior to May 20, 2009.
